Why Scrabble? Dave Schimoda,  says “There are many  health benefits; the mental concentration required to puzzle through different word options in Scrabble also puts the brain into a meditative state much like taking a class of yoga or meditating. Taking this time to deliberately relax and engage in some mental exercise is a great way to reduce stress and anxiety. Gradually absorbing the rules builds confidence and vocabulary.

In addition to these benefits, it’s a great social outlet. A lot of friendships have been forged by people who have met while playing Scrabble.”

You could try approaching your local Scrabble Club for a potential volunteer to facilitate the Scrabble Club.
