World Compliment Day

March 1st is World Compliment Day. According to the press release, it is “just about consciously reflecting on what someone in your area does well and letting that person know he/she is sincerely appreciated for that. It should be done through words instead of gifts. A sincere and personal compliment costs nothing, but the impact on the recipient is huge.”

So needless to say, it’s a really good chance for clients to spread the love. You could run a card making/note writing workshop where clients make and write on cards for fellow residents, staff or family members. Alternatively, maybe you could get clients to nominate residents and staff and hold an Oscars style awards ceremony.

The deepest principle in human nature is the craving to be appreciated.
